01 / analysis
Legal and rights risk
Confirm whether the token is a security, a fund interest, a contractual claim, a receipt or another instrument in the relevant jurisdiction. Read the governing documents for voting, income, redemption, bankruptcy, dispute and transfer rights; marketing language is not a substitute for those documents.
02 / analysis
Issuer and custody risk
Identify the issuer, custodian, administrator, auditor or attestation provider and the segregation arrangements for the underlying asset. Ask what happens if one of those parties becomes insolvent, changes terms or cannot access the asset.
03 / analysis
Technical and operational risk
Review the contract address, upgrade permissions, pausing or freezing functions, oracle dependencies, wallet controls, bridge exposure, key management and incident history. A public contract does not automatically mean the system is safe or immutable.
04 / analysis
Market and liquidity risk
Check how prices are formed, which venues support transfers, the spread, minimums, redemption windows, fees and any eligible-holder restrictions. A listed price or historical return does not guarantee that a position can be sold at that price or at all.
05 / analysis
Use the assessment as a research screen
This checklist organizes questions and evidence; it does not rate a project, establish legal status, confirm reserves, predict returns or recommend buying, selling or holding an asset. Mark unresolved fields as unknown, review the current primary documents and obtain qualified professional advice for a decision that affects your finances or legal obligations.
Due-diligence desk
Turn a tokenized-asset idea into a verification brief.
Record the legal, operational and liquidity questions that matter before relying on a token description. Nothing is uploaded or sent to Token Route Map.
Evidence matrix
See what is documented before you rely on a token claim.
Mark the evidence level you can actually verify for a DePIN or RWA project. The resulting percentage measures documentation completeness only; it does not measure safety, quality or expected returns.
Privacy note: inputs are stored only in this browser when you use the save workflow; they are not uploaded by this tool. Verify jurisdiction, terms, custody, permissions and liquidity independently.
Exposure screening worksheet
See concentration and hypothetical downside before you rely on a portfolio label.
Enter only amounts you choose to analyze and apply a hypothetical stress percentage to each position. The worksheet shows arithmetic, concentration and open liquidity questions; it does not assess whether an asset is good, safe or suitable.
Privacy note: saved inputs stay in this browser and are not uploaded by this worksheet. Do not enter wallet keys, passwords, identity documents or unnecessary personal information. Review actual terms, rights, fees, custody and jurisdiction independently.
Practical answers
Frequently asked questions
What belongs in an RWA tokenization risk assessment?
Review the legal instrument and holder rights, issuer and custody chain, underlying asset and reserve evidence, valuation, technology and permissions, transfer and redemption conditions, liquidity, fees, jurisdiction and operational history.
Does tokenization remove the risks of the underlying asset?
No. A token can add or change technology, custody, counterparty, legal, liquidity and operational dependencies. The digital format does not by itself establish ownership, reserves, redemption or enforceability.
How do I assess whether a tokenized asset is backed?
Identify the legal claim, issuer, custodian, underlying asset, segregation arrangement, valuation method and current evidence or attestations. Read the governing documents and record what is verified, partly documented or unknown.
Is a tokenized asset automatically a security?
Not every structure is identical, and classification depends on the instrument, rights, facts and jurisdiction. Do not infer legal status from a name; review the official documents and obtain qualified local advice when the decision is material.
Does a listed token price prove liquidity?
No. Check market depth, spreads, eligible holders, transfer controls, redemption windows, minimums, fees, settlement and suspension conditions. A displayed price or historical return does not guarantee an executable exit.
