RWA guide

RWA due diligence checklist.

Tokenization can improve distribution or reporting, but it does not remove the risks of the underlying asset, issuer, legal structure, custodian, or market.

Start with the legal wrapper

Identify the issuer, asset owner, governing documents, investor eligibility, transfer restrictions, jurisdiction, and rights if the issuer or service provider fails. A token is not automatically the same as direct ownership.

Test redemption and liquidity

Find the actual redemption process, settlement time, fees, minimums, market makers, transfer restrictions, and circumstances in which redemptions can be paused. Secondary-market availability is not guaranteed.

Review asset and counterparty risk

Assess valuation, collateral, seniority, defaults, concentration, audits, reporting frequency, custody, smart contracts, oracles, and operational dependencies. Use primary documents and date every material fact.

Keep commercial incentives visible

If a publication receives RevShare for a referral, that relationship must be disclosed before the reader acts. A commission is not evidence that an asset or protocol is suitable.
